The following instructions will help you to set up the Janztec emPC-A/RPI3+ within a few minutes and to take the first steps with FLECS. Enjoy the ride!
Before you get started you will need:
- A Janztec emPC-A/RPI3+
- An SD card with at least 16 GB memory
- Raspberry Pi OS 10, or higher
Or a Janztec emPC-A/RPI3+ with a pre-installed Linux and drivers from Janztec (then you can skip step 1)
Step 1: Install Raspberry Pi OS using Raspberry Pi Imager
The easiest way to get a Janztec emPC-A/RPI3+ up and running is to use the Raspberry Pi Imager. Visit the Raspberry Pi site to download it and flash your SD card with it. Follow these instructions before you continue with the next step here. After the Raspberry Pi Imager successfully flashed your SD card and you finished the general configuration, you are ready to install FLECS now.
Step 2: Install FLECS
To proceed be sure to
- Connect the Janztec emPC-A/RPI3+ to your local network with a network cable.
- Connect the Janztec emPC-A/RPI3+ to the power supply and let it boot.
Enter the following command into the command line of your Janztec emPC-A/RPI3+:

Step 3: Use FLECS
Your Janztec emPC-A/RPI3+ is now ready to go and you can access the FLECS UI by just entering the ip address, or hostname of your Janztec emPC-A/RPI3+ in your browser.
If there is already another webserver running on this system, try to append port :8080 or port :8008
